The Jeep Project…

“The 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ was purchased as a non-running, very rusty project vehicle. The truck was stock and had not been moved in 10 years. We got this YJ up and running with only minor electrical repair and a new battery, but the Jeep still wouldn’t move because of its bad clutch.

We began to take a closer look at the overall condition of the Jeep and found most of the body was rusted beyond repair. The Jeep ended up being completely disassembled down to the frame. The few salvageable parts had to be cleaned and repainted, but then the hunt was on for all the parts that were needed for reassembly.

The only parts of the body that could be saved were the doors and hood, so new/used tub, windshield frame, fenders, and grill all had to be found as well. The tub was then coated with Raptor liner on both the inside and outside before all the body parts were repainted with the original color…

The goal for the Jeep was simple: make it a nice driver with enough capability off-road to handle mildly difficult trails. My wife Kira had always wanted a Wrangler, and finally, here it was!”

… That became a Land Cruiser Project

“We enjoyed exploring Colorado in the Jeep YJ, but eventually came to the conclusion that it was too small to handle the family and camping equipment we needed for our adventures. I came across a Toyota Landcruiser that had already been started as a project vehicle, but after purchase I quickly discovered that the work that had been done wasn’t correct and the vehicle wouldn’t be safe or reliable until I could fix it all.

So, the truck was completely torn apart and the build was started over from the ground up. In the end, all of the drivetrain and the electrical was completely redone, and I also upgraded the suspension and accessories to make the truck reliable and safe for our mountain adventures.”
